Kolkata, 4 February : Government has no business in creating business and the entrepreneurs must take the charge and move the nation ahead, said Anil Agarwal, Chairman, Vedanta Group during a one on one meeting with Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, RPG Group here today during his visit to the city.
Speaking at length at the first of its kind meeting in the city, organised by the Indian Chamber of Commerce(ICC)and the Young Leaders Forum (YLF) this afternoon, Agarwal said he strongly believed in the power of women and felt that women in the society must be encouraged to study more and pursue their goals through diversified manners.
Highlighting the role of women in various spectrum of businesses and nation building for its thrive and all round development, the Rs 10,000 crores worth of Vedanta Group Chairman was of the opinion that empowerment of women was very critical.
‘Young entrepreneurs must be able to take risk and think of creating value chain’,he said adding it’s the most opportune moment for budding entrepreneurs in India to utilize the resources and opportunities in full swing. Echoing the views of Sanjiv Goenka, Agarwal also got nostalgic on his connection with Kolkata and said that he had spent a few years of his childhood in the city which had now gone far ahead in terms of showing humane face, kindness and compassion than many other cities.
He was also full of praise of the West Bengal government.
