Kolkata : The ‘Food Drive’ initiative by the students of J D Birla Institute Departments of Commerce and Management, was undertaken by the College to feed the under-privileged during the Lockdown in Covid-19 pandemic. Over six weeks, the students of the college have distributed meals among needy and distressed people. The students of J.D. Birla Institute have devised a unique ‘food chain’ model, whereby students take their turns to provide these meals ensuring a continuum of the services.

J D Birla Institute, established in 1962 has completed more than 50 years, is an Institute of higher learning committed to thoughtful and serious education for young minds in the fields of Food Science &Nutrition Management; Textile Science; Clothing & Fashion Studies; Interior Designing; Human Development; Commerce and Management, both at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The Institute provides graduate, post-graduate degrees under affiliation to Jadavpur University and was awarded with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC in 2010.
